I’ve have just returned from two days ‘working’ at Guys woodland workshop in Dorset where he was running one of his excellent greenwood and pole lathe courses. I say working in the looses sense of the word as playing about making Priests, Dibbers, Spurtals and Potato mashers on a pole lathe is a world away from the stresses of classroom teaching that I’ve become accustomed to over the last few year. No time pressure, top quality tools, an amazing setting with quality lunches and afternoon tea’s provided by the Nettle Pickers is defiantly the way forward.
I’ll be back to help teach on forthcoming courses including a greenwood chair masterclass, make your own shave horse and pole lathe and various other courses right through to the end of the autumn. What an amazing time to be able to work in the woods. I count myself very, very lucky!
